Palace Suspends Classes, Number-
Coding in Metro Manila
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Education (DepEd) on Friday suspended classes in all levels in Metro Manila due to security reasons.
The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) also suspended the number-coding scheme in Metro Manila.
DepEd Secretary Fe Hidalgo over an interview with ABS-CBN's Magandang Umaga Pilipinas said classes were suspended both in private and public schools in Metro Manila.
CHED Representative Amelia Diglete announced the suspension of classes both in state and private colleges and universities over an interview with DZMM.
Diglete said CHED Secretary Carlito Puno has yet to announce if Saturday classes would also be suspended.
Suspension of classes in the tertiary level is also restricted to the National Capital Region, she said.
The Philippine National Police raised the red alert over Metro Manila on Thursday in anticipation of demonstrations for the next two days.
The PNP said that the National Capital Region Police Office has deployed more than 1,000 officers to monitor rallies and implement security guidelines to ensure peace and order.
The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), meanwhile, gathered an additional 300 soldiers to augment crowd-control units for the 20th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution.
The report said that the augmentation force was pulled out from the Air Force, Army and Navy. The soldiers arrived at the AFP headquarters in Camp Aguinaldo Thursday afternoon.

Hmmm... so it wasn't the typhoon that's causing all these problems...
So... does that mean there will be no classes again tomorrow?
It doesn't! Within a few hours, another news broke out...

PRESIDENT Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo has announced the resumption of classes at all levels in Metro Manila, and in Regions 3 and 4 on Friday but said those in Regions 1 and 2 and at the Cordillera Administrative Region would remain suspended.
The President made the announcement Thursday during her visit at the National Disaster Coordinating Council (NDCC) in Camp Aguinaldo.
Classes in all levels were suspended in these areas following heavy rains caused by Tropical Storm “Florita.”
“Florita,” which became a typhoon as it headed towards Taiwan, left at least seven people dead and three missing.
Worthless newcasters! Don't they know how to do their jobs properly?
PS. I just hope nothing bad would happen on Saturday...
